What J.Note is looking for

譜面台にツール類が乗らないから足元に散らばってしまう。
This product is proudly presented to the world by a Japanese stationery manufacturer based on its technological expertise cultivated over many years. It has been planned, designed, and engineered based on solid technical capabilities. We are proud to deliver high quality products born from a world-first concept by professional musicians and professional craftsmen who were involved in the product development.
What inspired the development of music stationery?
One day, a man who made stationery for a living was having a meeting with his cousin, Jiro Yoshida, one of the world's top musicians. Jiro Yoshida, a top musician in the world. He said, "I'm having a hard time finding stationery for musicians. Jiro's comment triggered a strong interest and sympathy among product planning, manufacturing, design, and design professionals, and a team was formed to solve this problem.
Unprecedented development team
It was not a business-based project for a manufacturer, but a group of people who felt, "This project is interesting! This project was not a manufacturer's business-based project, but rather a group of people who felt that "this project is interesting! What made this project interesting was not only its approach, but also the fact that there were extreme users (professional musicians) among the development members who were professionals in various fields. In this way, we began to consider new market development, product planning, and development methods for this purpose. We all felt that this new development could not be realized by a traditional vertically organized manufacturer, but could only be done by a team of professionals in their respective positions, maintaining a flat relationship like ours.
The project finally began, and after many discussions, we decided to consider ten ideas. When it came time to prioritize the 10 items, we did not start with realistic possibilities. When it came time to prioritize the 10 items, we didn't start with realistic possibilities, but instead decided based on the level of trouble the users were having, which was something that was unique to this team. Among them, the priority of the problems was music score files and music tool storage cases. The criteria for priority was, "How can I concentrate on my performance without being bothered by unnecessary things, so that I can give my best performance? What are the barriers that prevent me from doing this, and how can I solve them? This is where the focus of the product concept emerged.
■Concept
●Music Stationery aims to develop products to relieve the stress of music composers, performers, and other people involved in music.
●It targets a wide range of users who are not bound by categories such as jazz, classical, pop, and enka.
●Tools that relieve the various stresses of musical activities are not only valuable in terms of things, but also in terms of things, creating a rich experience of better songs and better performances.
Various challenges to development
<Ⅿusic file>
First, the music file required
●Must be able to expand an A4 file into four openings.
●The music should not fly even in windy outdoor locations.
●To be able to write on the stave to the maximum extent possible.
●Use of materials with full consideration of durability and functionality.
The following were mentioned.
After repeated consideration and prototyping, we decided to use a stopper mechanism to prevent the stave from flying out of the file, an anti-slip magnet to prevent the music stand from falling out of the file itself, and a cut in the cover of the file to hold the music stand.
The important point in all of this was that Jiro, the musician, could do it in one action with no effort.
<Storage case>
What was required of the storage case was
●It should be able to be attached to a music stand and never slip off.
●To be able to store all the tools a musician needs and have them ready to go.
The following were mentioned.
After much deliberation and prototyping, the major challenge was to develop a mechanism that could be attached to music stands made of various materials. It was also important for Jiro to be able to attach and detach it from the music stand with a single action and never make any noise.
As a result of various studies, we were able to achieve a strong holding force on the music stand post by combining magnets with an anti-slip material. The idea for this non-slip material came from a member of the development team who happened to be driving in a car and saw a non-slip sheet for a cell phone stuck on the dashboard.
In addition, the number of magnets kept increasing during the prototyping process, and eventually we ended up with 16. This was a battle against cost.
Once we had an idea of what the product would look like, we conducted a receptivity survey of students in the brass band.
●Ⅿusic file → 79% of junior high school students and 40% of college students want it
●Storage case → 84% of junior high school students and 55% of college students want it
We were able to obtain a high evaluation.
In three years' time, we would like to make our products not stationery, but rather "indispensable and natural necessities and gear for musicians" in Japan and abroad. In the future, we hope to work together with many musicians to expand this gear.
